Zarate, is a concept inspired by humble beginnings overseas combined with a lifetime of experiences spanning over 25 years in the food and beverage industry. Our founder, Marcus Fernandez, spent the formative years of his life in the Philippines, where his grandmother's neighborhood store stood proudly a few yards from their home on Zarate Street. This enchanted emporium was a hub for the local community, and served popular street food, snacks, and beverages daily; inspiring him with a sense of hospitality that he carries to this day.

After moving to the United States, Marcus was driven by his passion for the culinary arts and his desire to honor his family's legacy. His lifelong journey in the food and beverage industry has led him to create a space where he hopes to share his diverse culture and cherished traditions with all who enter. His Lola's teachings, steeped in love and care, have been woven into every dish, and his unbridled passion for the industry shines through with each recipe.
