Zarate is a heartfelt tribute to heritage, blending humble beginnings overseas with over 25 years of expertise in the food and beverage industry. Founder, Marcus Fernandez, grew up in the Philippines where his grandmother’s small neighborhood store stood on Zarate Street and was a vibrant hub of the local community. Serving street food, baked goods, and beverages daily, those moments sparked in Marcus a deep appreciation for hospitality that continues to guide him today.
From the Philippines to the U.S. and home to Atlanta
After moving to the States, Marcus drew inspiration from the food cultures of NJ, NY, Miami, Chicago, Las Vegas, and family trips to Hawaii - all while gaining hands on experience across Atlanta's diverse dining scene. Each stop added new layers of flavor and influence that now come together inside Zarate Kitchen - a celebration of the culture within hospitality.
